Big Slick Is a poker club which is located in South Croydon (Purley), we also have two other clubs in Hastings and Portsmouth.

We have tournaments and cashgames everyday, and we have our very own skin on the ipoker network called Big Slick.

You can visit out wesite at bigslick.co.uk

big slick portsmouth has been open for around a year, it is run by a group of local poker players.

the club itself is not the best to look at, its like a working mans club to look at, but (and its a big but) the poker is a very high standered and there is big money up for grabs on some nights..

myself i have been there 2 times. both in the last month (got a 1st and a 7th).

the best nights are monday an friday when they have a £40+£40 semi freeze out... first prize is normaly over £1200, but alot of the time a deal is done so the last 3-4 players all get a cut of the big bucks.

myself i am not a fan of the cash game they play there as the game changes every night and i only play NL hold'em, but there is normaly a good £1500-£3000 floating around on the table, and sometimes alot more later in the night. alot of my friends like to play the cash game there.

forgot to say, the cash game now has a "jackpot" thing if you get a royal flush.

there is a few leagues going where you can win free trips and other prizes, but from what i have seen you will need to play atleast 2-3 times a week for a few months to have any chance of winning a free prize... but i guess its still something for nothing

i did notice it is a very friendly club, and you will see the same face's most nights.... i think is is a good place to learn poker, if you want to learn its best to go on a tuesday or saturday, when the amount of runners is less (20-30)

just remember, it dont matter what the club looks like when your walking way with a load of crispy new notes in your pocket.

£1500-£3000 that is massive, don't often see games like that in many places....what is the average buy in for that?
