Not strictly a poker club in London but close enough not to make it a mission so I have included it with my list. It's a great club with a variety of games to play.

Membership Information:

As with all private members clubs there is a 48hr membership delay so it is better to sign up before you even intend to go. Remember you need your passport or both parts of driving licence to joing. Food:

Until recently you used to get free sandwiches and fruit in the evenings but that has been stopped now as quite a few non players were taking advantage - Pikeys!

Anyway they recently replaced the "chef" and although I haven't tried his new food, I hear he is pretty good and won't be poisoning anyone too soon :-) It is all your usual stuff from pasta to burgers and keeps you alive whilst you building your bankroll. Bar:

The bar is open 7 days a week and till 2am so plenty of time to get a drink or two - All the usual is served from the bar from wine to beer.

Personal Comments/Advice:

Big Slick Players Club is a local club but is certainly not just for "local people" so don't worry you won't get any strange looks when you go in - Big Slick was started by poker players who wanted a regular game and this is reflected throughout the games and club itself in that it is really about the player and not just the profit. You only have to see their forum to understand how the management listen to their players.

Well having regular tournaments and cash games they also have Backgammon, Darts, Bridge, Kalooki, and Chess all in a "bar" environment and 24hr sky sports - Perfect!

To get to the club you can go by train (nearest railway stations are Purley, Purley Oaks and Sanderstead) or by car - just get onto the A235 head for the Royal Oak Centre, Brighton Road, Purley, Surrey. You will find the club on the stretch of road between the main roundabout on the A235 and the roundabout linking the old Brighton Road with Riddlesdown Road and Purley Downs Road.
