This is a brand new casino just opened in Leicester Sq. complete with restaurants, bars, a casino and a very late licence. An amazing venue! Address & Contact Details: 5-6 Leicester Street London WC2H 7NA Telephone: +44 (0) 203 014 1000 Fax: +44 (0) 203 014 1035 Membership Information: Like any casino in the UK to get into The casino At The Empire you need to join as a member before going in - This is free of charge and the only ID you need is either a passport, driving licence, utility bill (not phone bill) or credit card. You can join either at the venue or onlien at their website listed below. Food: Casino At The Empire has two main restaurants that are all of a very high quality. The first restaurant is Fulushou which is an Asian focused lounge restaurant serving Chinese and Japanese fusion. With a geat atmosphere and far from Casino feel it is a great place to unwind and collect your thought before, during or after a poker game in London. The second restaurant is Flame which much more like a top level restaurant you would find in Mayfair serving incredible fish and meat dishes created with using imaginative ingredients and methods without damaging the natural flavours of the food. Personnally I would advice you go for the steak - They fly them in from the USA and are amazing Bar: There are a number of bars around the venue ranging from small typical bars you would get in any casino through to impressives bar/clubs like the Shadow Lounge (like it's equivilant in Las Vegas) or lounges like The Icon Room which is a great place to chill out and watch the chaos in Leicester Square from their Balcony. Something they also don't publicise is that The Icon Room has a gaming licence so they could and are planning to hold poker games on the balcony overlooking the Sq. Count me in!! Personal Comments/Advice: As you can imagine this place is very very nice with a very different ambience and design to the whole venue from all the other clubs in London - HOWEVER ther poker is very small at the moment with the club just being open on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. That said the poker room is a lot better than any other poker clubs in London (although a little small) and speaking to the manager they will increase the games as demand grows which I am sure it will after they host the first WSOP Europe there in September witrh it's £10,000 buy in. Games Availiable: At the moment as mentioned the club is only open three days a week with oddly enough the biggest tournament on a weekday night (Tues - £100 rebuy) as opposed to the weekend ere the games range from £10 rebuys to £50 rebuys - All rebuys are 90mins. The full schdule is on their site. The of course also have cash games constantly going on with a set hour charge rather than a rake - The charge is actually the lowest currently availible for a London poker club.
