Based in Clarkenwell Gutshot is one of London's more infamous poker clubs catering for all things poker from stud and omaha through to P/L Texas Hold'em cash games and tournaments usually twice day ranging from £20 buy in's to £300.

Membership Information:

Gutshot is a private members club. Membership is free of charge, just click here to download the membership form and fill it out before you arrive - Don't forget to bring your passport or driving licence the first time you visit otherwise you can't play

Recently Gutshot have added a ruling that you do need to pay £3 each time you visit the club.

UPDATE - Gutshot is now asking for two existing members to vouch for new members - Call ahead to confirm this but as of Dec 5th 2007 it was still happening.

Food:

Gutshot has an excellent selection of food ranging from all-day breakfasts through to market fresh fish. Food is available from 5.30pm - 2.30am on weekdays and from 1pm to the same closing time on weekends.

Bar:

Gutshot has a well stocked bar which includes all the usuals from beer (both draught and bottled) to champagne. The bar serves alcohol from midday to midnight.

Personal Comments/Advice:

Gutshot was one of the first places I played as well as the first tournament I ever won! For a London poker club it is really a great place and run very professionally. Unfortunately Gutshot lost a court case in January over whether poker is a game of skill and because of this it has had to close the next door extension, stop rebuy games and put in a £3 charge each time you visit the club - This is all towards paying the court fees and fine imposed by the court.

When you enter the club you will be faced by the reception where you pay your £3 and sort your membership, downstairs is the internet room, cash desk to register for a cash games or cash in your chips, as well as tables where the bigger tourneys are played as well as the cash games; upstairs you will find the bar, the first internet room and self deal tables for the smaller tournaments.

Games Availiable:

Gutshot always has a game availiable for all levels of London's poker players from small buy in tournaments to high level cash games. Tournaments are played at 2pm and 8pm and range from £20 to £300 freeze outs. most buy ins range around the £30 mark.
