The Vic is actually the poker club based in The Grosvenor Victoria Casino on Edgeware Rd. Some would say the Vic was the home of London poker and although it's been in and out of fashion you will always get a good game here.

The Vic Poker Club is actually within The Grosvenor Victoria Casino so normal casino rules apply, i.e. you need to make sure you have photo id and proof of address.

Food:

The food at the Vic is excellent and includes a full on restaurant you can sit at and eat the finest food matched with some great wine. Great when you need some time out or want to celebrate a great win!

Bar:

One of the great things about having the poker club in a casino means the bar is open very late and if truth be told till it closes which is 4am on a Saturday and 6am on Sundays to Fridays.

Personal Comments/Advice: First of all and very important is The Vic is part of a casino so they have a dress code - "smart Casual" - Many have made the mistake and it can really ruin a good night if you turn up and they don't let you in. The good side of this is the late bar and now its all moved upstairs it is perfectly located beside the tables. Another important point at this venue is they have a number of house rules that have come about from some very clever "magician like" players in the past - Key rules are:

Don't stack the chips in the pot in no limit The cards must be on the table when you deal the flop, turn and river No mobiles at the table If you have won the hand, only show one card, i.e. an ace matching and then throw the cards in the pile it is considered mucked even if you had won the hand with that single card Other players will be patient with you so don't stress too much

Games Availiable:

Tournaments are constantly changing here with a whole range of games always going on so rather than me tell you what they have currently schedules I suggest you check their website which is regulary updated - Tournaments normally start at 8pm with registration strictly closing at 7.30.

The Vic has some great cash games always going on day and night with some serious players you can learn a lot from and often a number of professionals, but don't let this put you off as there are plenty of small games too. For those that like tournaments there is a 8 tables always set up for 72 players but this can be expanded for bigger games and now they have expanded upstairs there are a lot more tables too.
