After one of the quickest heads up matches in EPT history online qualifier Aaron Gustavson has beened crowned champion of the London EPT winning £850,000, his biggest tournament win todate.
Aaron Gustavson who is just 23 years old qualified online at Pokerstars under the Stars username "Aguskb" played perfectly throughout the tournament finally beating the Danish world champion Peter Eastgate heads up in just 15 minutes and seven hands. In the final hand Gustavson was dealt an AQ against Eastgate's A9 - Both went all in pre flop and with neither player finding anything the AQ stood up with the Q kicker. Aaron walked away with not only the £850,000 prize but also a seat at the season's grand final which takes place in Monte Carlo next year. On winning the tournament Aaron Gustavson told reporters "I'm speechless, totally overwhelmed. I don't think it's going to hit me for quite a while. Having this title is amazing - a dream." The London EPT also marked history for not just London poker but also UK poker in that it was the biggest tournament ever played in the UK with 730 runners each paying a £5,300 buy in.
